Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu’s long-running feud has resurfaced after the Bollywood actors exchanged pointed remarks on social media, with the latest clash reportedly centering on comments about family, upbringing and their respective backgrounds.

Ranaut, who is also a BJP MP, took aim at Pannu in a series of Instagram Stories that were later deleted. Without directly naming her, Ranaut described the actress as a “sasti copy” and accused her of crossing a line by allegedly mocking her parents and upbringing.

The dispute appeared to stem from comments made by Pannu about Ranaut and her family. In her now-deleted posts, Ranaut defended her parents and questioned why they were being brought into a disagreement between the two actresses.

Ranaut argued that parents should not become part of personal or professional disputes and said she had generally avoided involving the families of people she had disagreements with. However, she suggested that Pannu’s alleged remarks had pushed the situation too far.

The actress-turned-politician also spoke about her own background, highlighting her family’s roots and describing her parents as educated and distinguished. She maintained that choosing to build her career independently should not be used as a reason to criticize or insult her family.

Ranaut further accused Pannu of making personal remarks while promoting her upcoming project, suggesting that the actress had used the controversy to attract media attention. She also repeated the “sasti copy” label that has been associated with their rivalry for several years.

After deleting her Instagram Stories, Ranaut’s comments were met with a brief response from Pannu. The actress shared a cryptic social media post that simply read, “Hence proved,” without mentioning Ranaut by name.

The latest exchange adds another chapter to the tense relationship between the two Bollywood stars. Their public rivalry dates back to 2019, when Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel described Pannu as a “sasti copy” on social media. The remark became one of the most widely remembered moments in the actresses’ ongoing dispute.

The tension grew further in 2020 amid a wider debate over nepotism and opportunities for outsiders in the Hindi film industry. Ranaut criticized several actors during the controversy and referred to Pannu and others as “B-grade actresses” and “needy outsiders.”

Pannu, meanwhile, has continued to establish herself as one of the prominent actresses in Bollywood, taking on a range of roles across different genres. The actress is now preparing for the release of her upcoming film Gandhari.

Directed by Devashish Makhija and written by Kanika Dhillon, Gandhari is expected to showcase Pannu in another intense role. The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 3.

With both actresses continuing to remain active in the entertainment industry, their latest social media exchange has once again drawn attention to a rivalry that has continued for years. Although Ranaut has since removed her posts and Pannu kept her response short, the exchange has reignited public interest in their long-standing differences.
