Security forces have killed 49 militants during operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said the operations successfully thwarted attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country.
According to ISPR, the operations were conducted as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign against what it described as Indian proxies, Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
Several intelligence-based operations were carried out in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts.
ISPR said 12 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, which it described as operating with Indian backing, were killed during the operations.
The military further said that 37 militants associated with Fitna al-Hindustan were also killed in the operations. A large quantity of weapons, explosives and remote-detonation devices was recovered and subsequently destroyed.
ISPR said security forces remained committed to defending the country’s borders and would continue operations to eliminate any other militants operating in the area.
The military’s media wing said sanitisation operations were ongoing in areas where militants were believed to be present.
According to ISPR, the counterterrorism campaign will continue until the threat of terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
