Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi saying the provincial government should concentrate on addressing problems in the province instead of focusing on the legal and political affairs of PTI founder Imran Khan.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Memon said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing serious security challenges including the threat of terrorism. He questioned the provincial leadership’s priorities and argued that the chief minister should give greater attention to the deteriorating situation within the province.
Memon also advised Sohail Afridi to focus on his responsibilities as chief minister rather than promoting the political agenda of the PTI founder. He said the KP chief minister should demonstrate his ability to govern the province effectively.
The Sindh minister further called on Afridi to explain the worsening conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and address the concerns being raised about security and governance.
Memon’s remarks came amid political differences between the provincial and federal political camps with leaders continuing to exchange criticism over governance and political priorities.
He maintained that the KP government should concentrate on issues directly affecting residents of the province. According to Memon tackling security concerns and improving administration should remain among the government’s major responsibilities.
The statement adds to the ongoing political debate surrounding the role of provincial leadership and the priorities of the KP government. Political figures from different parties have frequently criticized one another over governance security and the political activities of their respective leadership.
Memon’s comments specifically focused on the need for the KP chief minister to address provincial matters and respond to concerns about the security situation rather than becoming involved in the political campaign surrounding the PTI founder.
