KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed authorities to strictly regulate the market to prevent an artificial increase in flour prices and protect consumers from undue inflation.

Chairing a high-level meeting in Karachi, the chief minister expressed serious concern over the rising wheat and flour prices across the province. He said the provincial government will not allow artificial shortages or price manipulation in the essential food supply chain.

Murad Ali Shah emphasized that protecting both farmers and consumers remains a priority of the government. He stressed the need to maintain a balance between fair returns for growers and affordable prices for the public.

He said stable wheat supply and fair pricing can only be ensured through close coordination among growers, flour mill owners, traders, and federal authorities. The chief minister directed all concerned departments to take immediate steps to stabilize the market and prevent speculative price hikes.

He further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted availability of wheat and flour at controlled rates, warning that strict action would be taken against those involved in hoarding or market manipulation.
