The Government of Sindh has decided to formally convert its youth employment pilot initiative, “I Work for Sindh,” into a permanent government programme aimed at creating job opportunities for young people.
According to a spokesperson for the Information Department, an important meeting of the department was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, where participants agreed on a comprehensive strategy to make the “I Work for Sindh” platform more effective, integrated and technologically advanced.
The spokesperson stated that the pilot employment project would now be transformed into an official and permanent government programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that “I Work for Sindh” had become an effective digital platform for the province’s youth and business institutions. He revealed that the portal had received more than 4.8 million visits so far.
He further stated that more than 113,000 candidates had registered on the platform, while 670 companies had also signed up to participate. At present, 11,100 job opportunities are actively available on the portal.
According to the provincial minister, a total of 20,800 jobs have been posted on the platform since its launch, while more than 419,000 job applications have been submitted by candidates.
He added that the portal also offers an automated CV-building facility to assist job seekers in preparing professional resumes.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the platform includes a “Learn and Earn” feature, enabling users to acquire skills while earning income.
He also announced that live career counselling sessions by industry experts would soon be introduced on the portal to provide direct career guidance to young people.
The minister said that the Sindh government intends to institutionalise “I Work for Sindh” as a permanent government programme and called on all relevant departments to work together in a coordinated manner to ensure its success.
He added that the Information Department serves as a vital link between the government and the public, and stressed that ensuring timely, transparent and effective dissemination of information in line with modern requirements is essential.
