Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that roads and houses are being built, electricity is being generated and Sindh is moving forward.
In a statement issued in Karachi, Sharjeel Memon said the Sindh government does not make empty claims, adding that its development work speaks for its performance. He said the Sindh development programme for the fiscal year 2025-26 was allocated Rs1.018 trillion.
He said the development budget includes 3,642 schemes while 5,636 kilometres of roads and 1,460 different development schemes have been completed over the past five years.
He said the Sindh government’s efforts in healthcare and the provision of basic facilities have received recognition, while the construction programme for flood victims, involving 2.1 million houses is an unprecedented initiative.
The senior minister said the Thar Coal project is supplying 3,240 megawatts of electricity to the national grid for consumers. He added that projects involving the lining of 3,675 miles of canals have also been completed.
He said Sindh had used its own resources to contribute to national development.
“Opponents ask for an account of development, and we present the figures,” Sharjeel Memon said.
He maintained that development in Sindh was not limited to a particular city or social group but represented development for the people as a whole.
The senior minister further said that people across Pakistan benefit from Sindh’s resources and services without discrimination.
