Most ACs work in a similar way by sending cool air across the room. However a new smart AC from Chinese company Midea is designed to do something different it can follow you with cool air.
The new system was showcased by Midea at the IFA technology show in Germany. It uses sensors and spatial imaging technology to detect where a person is in the room.
Once it identifies your location the AC directs the cool airflow toward you. This means you can feel cooler without having to lower the temperature for the entire room which could also help reduce wasted energy.
The smart AC can also work with other home devices including a humidifier. Together the devices can help maintain a comfortable temperature while keeping the right level of moisture in the air.
Another useful feature is voice control. Users can operate the system with voice commands without needing to get up or use a remote. The technology could offer a more personalized and energy efficient way to stay cool. However Midea has not yet announced when this smart AC will be available for sale.
