Smile 3 gets a new director as Parker Finn steps down

The Smile franchise is returning for a third installment, with David Bruckner taking over directing duties from original filmmaker Parker Finn.

Paramount has confirmed Smile 3, with Bruckner, known for his work on Hellraiser, stepping in to direct the upcoming horror sequel. Nick Antosca will write the screenplay.

Although Finn is stepping away from directing due to other professional commitments, he will remain attached to the project as a producer alongside Temple Hill. Jonathan Fass will serve as executive producer.

Finn is currently working on a remake of the 1981 supernatural thriller Possession, starring Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley.

The franchise began in 2022 with Smile, which followed a psychiatrist experiencing terrifying encounters after witnessing a disturbing incident involving a patient. Its 2024 sequel, Smile 2, centered on a global pop star whose life takes a frightening turn as she prepares for a world tour.

Plot details and casting for Smile 3 remain undisclosed, leaving fans waiting for more updates on the next chapter of the supernatural horror series.
