Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police stated that preliminary investigations indicated the incident was a suspected suicide attack. Security teams and the Bomb Disposal Squad reached the site to examine the nature of the explosion and collect evidence for further investigation.

According to police officials, the attacker allegedly attempted to enter the Kabal police station but detonated explosives near the gate after being stopped by security personnel. Authorities said that the blast caused casualties among both police officials and civilians in the surrounding area.

The injured and deceased were shifted to Central Hospital Swat, where medical teams provided treatment and emergency assistance. Police and security officials reached the site following the incident and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Malakand Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Fida Hussain said that a local protest was also taking place in the area at the time of the explosion. Authorities are examining all aspects of the incident as part of the ongoing investigation.

Following the attack, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi sought a detailed report from the provincial police chief and expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He directed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the attack and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims. He directed relevant authorities to provide medical assistance to the injured and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating terrorism.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the efforts of police personnel who lost their lives while performing their duties. He stated that the sacrifices of security officials reflect their commitment to protecting citizens.

The incident has once again highlighted the security challenges faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province that has experienced repeated militant attacks in recent years. Authorities continue to investigate the attack while security measures remain heightened across the region.
