The Shires announce indefinite Hiatus after 13 years

British country music duo The Shires have announced an indefinite hiatus after 13 years together, confirming that their upcoming November tour will be their last for the foreseeable future.

The duo, comprising Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes, shared the news on Instagram on October 23, describing the decision as bittersweet. Rhodes plans to step away from touring to spend more quality time with her two young daughters.

Since forming in 2013, The Shires have released six albums, performed for audiences worldwide and helped popularise British country music.

The musicians clarified that their decision was not the result of personal differences. Earle expressed his support for Rhodes’ decision, acknowledging the importance of family life and the demands.

Although the duo will be taking time apart, they have not ruled out working together again in the future.

They also encouraged fans to join them for their final tour, promising to celebrate their musical journey and create lasting memories with audiences.

After more than a decade together, the break marks the end of a significant chapter for The Shires, although a reunion remains a possibility.
