A Turkish-American researcher has claimed that his specially developed radar technology detected a boat-like structure beneath the ground at a site in eastern Turkey that has long been associated with the biblical and Quranic account of Noah’s Ark.
According to the report, Dr Khusro Bakhtiar examined the underground area near the Durupinar site using what is described as the “Bakhtiar Radar.” The technology reportedly uses electromagnetic signals to detect structures and objects beneath the surface.
The researcher claims that the radar examination revealed a structure resembling a large boat beneath the ground. The claim has attracted attention because the Durupinar formation has for decades been associated by some researchers and religious groups with the location of Noah’s Ark.
The site is located in eastern Turkey and has the appearance of a large boat-shaped formation. Some geologists, however, have argued that the formation is a natural geological structure rather than the remains of an ancient vessel.
According to the report, the formation is approximately 515 feet long and has previously been studied by researchers interested in the Noah’s Ark mystery.
Dr Bakhtiar and his team reportedly now want to conduct an excavation at the location to determine what lies beneath the surface. If excavation produces physical evidence of a man-made structure, it could provide material for further scientific investigation.
The story has also attracted interest among religious communities because of the importance of Noah’s Ark in Islamic tradition. The Quran refers to the Ark coming to rest on Al-Judi, although the precise geographical location of the place is not definitively established.
Interestingly, a mountain peak in the region is locally associated with the name Al-Judi adding another layer to the ongoing debate about the Ark’s possible location.
However, the reported radar finding should currently be regarded as a claim rather than a confirmed archaeological discovery. Further excavation independent scientific analysis and peer-reviewed research would be necessary to establish whether the underground structure is artificial and whether it has any connection to Noah’s Ark.
The proposed investigation could therefore provide new evidence in the long-running search for the legendary vessel but definitive conclusions will depend on what researchers find beneath the site.
