Two children were injured after a remote-controlled explosive device detonated along a roadside in Bajaur district, according to police officials.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bajaur said the explosive device had been planted along the roadside in the Dama Dola Khwar area. The device was reportedly detonated remotely, causing an explosion that injured two children in the vicinity.

The injured children are aged 10 and 11. They suffered injuries in the blast and were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar, where doctors provided them with medical treatment. Authorities have not yet released further details about the nature or severity of their injuries.

Soon after the explosion, police and other security personnel reached the scene and cordoned off the area. Security teams conducted an initial search of the surrounding area to ensure that no additional explosives had been planted nearby.

Police have launched a probe into the incident and are collecting evidence from the blast site. Investigators are also working to determine who planted the device, how it was detonated and whether the attack was specifically targeting anyone in the area.
