US sees ‘true friendship’ rising with Pakistan, hails Shehbaz & Munir

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has praised Pakistan’s leadership for their role in regional peace efforts. He highlighted growing cooperation between the United States and Pakistan.

He made these remarks at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. He said a “true friendship” is developing between Washington and Islamabad.

The US Defence Secretary also said India remains a key strategic partner for the United States in the Indo-Pacific region. However, he noted Pakistan’s role in peace initiatives is also being recognised.

He said both countries continue to engage in efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting dialogue. He described this as part of broader diplomatic activity in the region.

Relations between Pakistan and the United States have improved over the past year. Both sides have increased political and military-level engagement.
