US Senate approves partial restrictions on TikTok

Washington: The US Senate has approved a bill imposing partial restrictions on the social media platform TikTok.

Reacting to the move, the social media company TikTok expressed concern that restrictions on its platform would be against freedom of expression.

On the other hand, the US Senate has also approved a $95 billion aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

According to American media reports, Ukraine will receive $60.8 billion as part of the economic aid bill while the package also includes $26.4 billion in aid for Israel.

It has been further reported by American media that the approved bill will allocate an additional $8 billion in aid to Taiwan with the bill sent to US President Joe Biden for signature.
