LAHORE:The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has approved the regularisation of WSF staff employed under Lumpsum Pay Packages I and II and working on various Operation and Maintenance (O&M) projects, including the Dasu hydropower project

According to an official document obtained by *Minute Mirror*, the decision applies to employees who have completed three years of service and whose performance has remained satisfactory during their tenure.

The development is expected to provide greater job security and improved service-related benefits to eligible employees who have been serving on contractual arrangements at different WAPDA O&M projects.

In a letter issued on August 31, 2026, by the Security Directorate, WAPDA House Lahore, Director (Security) Lt Col Pirzada Usman Hashmi (Retd) directed the Director (Security), Dasu HPP, Kohistan, to submit complete records of the concerned employees so that their cases could be processed for regularisation.

The WAPDA headquarters has requested a set of documents for each employee working under Lumpsum Pay Packages I and II.

The required documents include the employee’s appointment order and attested copies of educational certificates. Authorities have also sought work and conduct reports to assess the employee’s service record.

In addition, each case must include certificates confirming that no departmental inquiry is pending against the employee, no audit para remains outstanding and no penalty has been imposed.

Police verification reports have also been made part of the documentation process. Employees are required to provide Performance Evaluation Reports (PERs) covering three years of service, along with a medical fitness certificate.

The concerned office has further been asked to submit a formal recommendation letter supporting the employee’s regularisation.

Another important requirement is a declaration on non-judicial stamp paper. Through this declaration, the employee must confirm that they have not been convicted, screened out or removed from government service, WAPDA or any other statutory organisation.

The WAPDA directive has specifically instructed the concerned authorities to process the matter on an urgent basis. The letter states that the case should be treated on “TOP PRIORITY BASIS.”

Copies of the directive have also been forwarded to the General Manager/Project Director of Dasu Hydropower Project as well as the relevant master file for record and further necessary action.

The directive indicates that the regularisation process has now entered the documentation and verification stage. Once the required records are received from Dasu HPP, WAPDA headquarters will be able to examine and process the individual cases according to the applicable requirements.

WSF employees working under Lumpsum Pay Packages I and II have been serving at several WAPDA O&M projects on contractual arrangements. Many of these employees have accumulated several years of experience while performing duties on projects considered important to the country’s power and water infrastructure.

The approval of regularisation is therefore expected to be significant for eligible employees, particularly those who have completed the required three years of satisfactory service.

The move could provide qualifying staff with greater employment stability and access to regular service benefits, subject to completion of the required verification and approval process.

Officials said the next step would be the submission and scrutiny of the requested documents. The cases will subsequently be processed by the relevant WAPDA authorities.
