A 24-year-old woman has been killed and a man injured following a double stabbing in Hayes, west London, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Uxbridge Road at around 7:55am on Sunday after receiving reports of a stabbing. Officers and paramedics found the woman with critical stab injuries. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s was also found with stab wounds outside the property. He was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have not released details of his condition.
A 44-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Detectives said the suspect was also taken to hospital after sustaining injuries believed to have been suffered when he jumped from a window.
The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation and specialist officers are supporting the victim’s family.
Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area to come forward. Police said they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the attack.
The investigation remains at an early stage, and further updates are expected as detectives continue their enquiries.
