KARACHI: A woman and her two daughters were found dead inside their home in Sector 7-D, Surjani Town, on Monday, while her 18-month-old daughter later died from injuries at a hospital.
Police said they found the bodies of 34-year-old Mehwish and her daughters, six-year-old Hurha and five-year-old Haneen, inside the house. The youngest child, 18-month-old Ashmeera, sustained serious injuries and died while receiving treatment at a hospital.
SSP West Tariq Mastoi said the Crime Scene Unit examined the house and collected forensic evidence, including fingerprints. Initial findings indicated that the attackers used a sharp-edged weapon and an iron rod.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the killings. Investigators are also collecting information about the woman’s husband and other relatives as they examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed deep grief over the deaths and sought an immediate report from the Additional Inspector General of Karachi. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar also took notice of the incident and directed SSP West to submit a detailed report.
Shahra-e-Noor Jehan police have registered a case against a minor driver after a speeding car struck a motorcycle on the Manghopir Flyover near Qalandria Chowk, killing a 13-year-old girl and seriously injuring her father.
Police registered FIR No. 512 of 2026 on the complaint of the girl’s brother, Muhammad Umair, under Sections 320, 322, 427 and 337-G of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The complainant nominated the minor driver as well as the people who allegedly handed the vehicle over to him.
According to police, the accident occurred on Sunday evening when a grey Toyota Corolla, allegedly driven rashly and negligently by the minor, hit a motorcycle carrying Younis and his two children.
Younis’s 13-year-old daughter, Khola, died at the scene, while Younis suffered serious injuries. His son, Abdullah, was also travelling on the motorcycle when the crash occurred.
