Balochistan has experienced several deadly road accidents in recent months, raising concerns about road safety across the province.

On October 19, four people, including women and children, died when a Mazda truck collided with a Suzuki Alto near Darbi in Bolan district.

Earlier, on October 13, a passenger van travelling from Quetta to Kalat collided with a truck near Badrang in Mastung district, killing four people and injuring five others.

In another major incident in July, at least 40 passengers were killed and eight injured when a coach travelling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a ravine in the Dana Sar area along the Sherani-Zhob highway.

Rescue officials reported in January that more than 24,000 road accidents had been recorded across Balochistan during 2025. The incidents resulted in over 415 deaths and nearly 30,000 injuries.

The N-25 National Highway, which connects Quetta with Karachi, has been identified as one of the province’s most accident-prone routes.
