A report detailing the cases registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, in Islamabad has been submitted to the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The report was presented during the hearing of a petition seeking details of cases registered against the two sisters.
Justice Shahrukh Arjumand heard the petition. The court was asked to obtain and provide complete information about any criminal cases or inquiries pending against Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan in Islamabad.
Lawyers Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry and Shaheena Shehab appeared in court on behalf of Aleema Khan. Government counsel Usman Ghuman represented the state.
According to the report submitted before the court, three cases have been registered against Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan in Islamabad.
The report also disclosed that an inquiry involving both sisters is pending with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The government lawyer informed the court that, according to the latest information available, these three cases and one FIA inquiry were the only proceedings currently recorded against the two sisters in Islamabad.
The lawyer told the court that the information had been compiled on the basis of records available to the relevant authorities.
The report was submitted in response to the petition seeking clarity about the legal proceedings against the two sisters.
After reviewing the report, the Islamabad High Court disposed of the petition. The court did not issue any further directions after the authorities provided the requested information.
The petition had been filed by Shahreiz Khan through Barrister Salman Safdar in October 2024.
It was filed at a time when Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan were arrested. The petition sought details of cases registered against them and information about any investigations or inquiries being conducted by state institutions.
The latest report now provides a formal account of the cases and inquiry identified by the authorities in Islamabad.
