LAHORE: Punjab Police have registered three separate cases concerning alleged rape and sexual assault within a period of 72 hours, with incidents reported in Rahim Yar Khan and other districts of the province.
According to police records, the cases involve allegations against unidentified or suspected individuals, while investigations have been initiated to determine the circumstances of each incident and identify those responsible. The reported victims include a 14-year-old girl and a boy aged between 10 and 11 years.
14-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Assaulted in Rahim Yar Khan
FIR No. 495/26 was registered at Police Station Kot Behrul on September 8, 2026, following an alleged incident involving a 14-year-old girl.
According to the FIR, the girl was taken to DHQ Hospital Bahawalpur for medical treatment at around 11:05pm on September 7. Her parents, residents of Chak 16/9-2 in the Kot Behrul area, approached the police and reported that their daughter had allegedly been lured near a shop by an unidentified individual.
The suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the girl before fleeing from the location. Police registered the case under Section 376(iii) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Fiza Hussain.
Police have initiated an investigation and are working to establish the identity of the alleged perpetrator and collect relevant evidence.
Minor Boy Among Victims in Second Case
In another case, police registered FIR No. 261/26 on September 7, 2026, concerning an alleged sexual assault involving a boy aged between 10 and 11 years.
The incident was reportedly committed on September 5 at approximately 8:30am. The case has been registered under several legal provisions, including Section 376(iii) PPC, along with other sections mentioned in the FIR.
The complaint was filed by Head Constable Shahid Kaleem, while police have assigned the matter for further investigation to the relevant investigation officer and Special Senior Investigation Officer Unit.
Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are expected to gather further evidence as part of the investigation.
Third Rape Case Registered in Sadar
A third case was registered at Police Station Sadar on September 5, 2026, under Section 376(iii) PPC in connection with an alleged rape incident.
FIR No. 1279/26 was registered on the complaint of Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Aslam. Police said that an investigation into the allegations is currently underway.
Investigators are examining the available information and evidence to determine the facts of the case and establish responsibility in accordance with the law.
Police Launch Investigations
Police officials said that medical examinations and formal investigations have been initiated in all three cases. Relevant evidence is being collected, while investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding each reported incident.
Authorities have urged citizens and families to immediately report cases of sexual violence and cooperate with investigators so that legal proceedings can be initiated without delay.
Police officials maintained that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible following due investigation and completion of the legal process.
The cases remain under investigation, and allegations contained in the FIRs have yet to be established in court.
