Two train derailments reported in Jhelum, Rahim Yar Khan

Two separate train derailments were reported in Punjab on Wednesday, causing disruption to railway operations.

In Jhelum, a train engine and three passenger coaches derailed near Kantrila railway crossing. The affected coaches came off the tracks and are currently positioned on the crossing track.

Railway officials said all passengers remained safe in the Jhelum incident. No casualties or injuries were reported.

The passenger train was travelling from Rawalpindi to Lahore when the derailment occurred.

Officials said the main railway track used for regular train operations has been restored. Train movement on the main track is continuing.

Railway teams are working to deal with the derailed coaches and clear the affected area.

A separate derailment was reported near Feroza in Rahim Yar Khan.

According to railway officials, a freight train derailed along with its engine and 11 coaches. The train was travelling from Karachi to Yusufwala when the accident occurred.

The derailment affected railway operations in the area. One track has been temporarily suspended following the incident.

Railway authorities have called a relief train to assist in the recovery operation. Teams are expected to remove the derailed engine and coaches from the track.

Officials are also working to restore normal train services as quickly as possible.
