Alia Bhatt says daughter Raha is the real Alpha at home

According to Alia, little Raha is the family's true Alpha and Animal.

Alia Bhatt is stepping into her first major action role as a lethal spy in Alpha, but when it comes to who actually runs the show at home, the actress has a very different answer, and it is not her or husband Ranbir Kapoor.
During a promotional interview for Alpha with YouTuber MyMissAnand, Alia was asked the obvious question: does she consider herself an Alpha at home, given her upcoming film title, and is Ranbir the Animal, given his 2023 blockbuster? Without missing a beat, she gave the most endearing answer possible. “Raha!” she said, laughing, referring to her three year old daughter.
She went on to describe Raha as the one truly in charge of the household, adding that their little girl is equal parts Alpha and Animal at home. “She is the Gen Alpha,” Alia said with clear delight, before sharing a sweet anecdote that perfectly illustrated the point. “One day, I decided to wear jeans and sit at home,” she recalled. “She asked, ‘Where are you going?’ I said I can’t sit in nightclothes at home. She said, ‘No, you don’t sit like this.'” The image of a toddler firmly instructing her mother on appropriate home attire charmed fans immediately.
Alia’s warmth for Raha has always been evident in her public appearances, but this particular exchange captured something about the family dynamic that felt genuinely unscripted. The confidence and the authority already on display in her daughter clearly delights rather than surprises her.
This is not the first time Alia has spoken about Raha’s vivid personality. At an earlier Delhi event, she described her daughter as deeply filmy, saying she loves music, picks up dance steps quickly, and has a natural instinct for drama. She also noted that Raha has shown an early interest in sports and art, describing her as a leader and a thinker in her own way, someone who is still growing but already approaching the world with curiosity and confidence.
In Alpha, releasing on July 3, 2026, Alia plays Sita, a trained assassin whose story marks the first female led chapter in the YRF Spy Universe. It is a role that required months of physical preparation and represents one of the most significant creative pivots of her career to date.
Alia and Ranbir, who began dating in 2018 on the sets of Brahmastra, married in a quiet ceremony at their Mumbai home in April 2022 and welcomed Raha in November of that year. Off screen, the household runs on Raha’s terms. On screen, Alia is about to show audiences a very different side of herself entirely.
