Army recovers body of missing mountaineer Syed Ali Shah

SWAT: The Pakistan Army has completed a challenging rescue operation to recover the remains of mountaineer Syed Ali Shah, who went missing during a mountaineering expedition in the mountainous region of Swat.

Army rescue teams, working alongside personnel from other relevant departments, located Shah’s remains on the difficult terrain of **Falaksar Peak** and successfully brought them down from the high-altitude area.

Syed Ali Shah went missing on **July 17** while taking part in a mountaineering activity in the region. His disappearance prompted a search operation, with rescue personnel facing significant difficulties due to the rugged landscape, steep slopes and high altitude.

According to the details, Pakistan Army rescue teams located Shah’s body at an altitude of around 5,200 metres. The location presented a major challenge for the rescuers because of the difficult terrain and limited accessibility.

Following the discovery, the rescue teams carefully recovered the remains and began the difficult task of bringing them down from the peak. Personnel from the army and other institutions coordinated their efforts throughout the operation to ensure the safe transportation of the remains.

After completing the recovery mission, the teams transported Syed Ali Shah’s remains to Swat, where they were handed over for further necessary arrangements.

The operation brings to an end the search for the missing mountaineer, whose remains had remained at the remote peak for several days. The successful recovery also highlights the challenges faced by rescue teams while operating in high-altitude and difficult mountainous areas.

Officials said the operation required considerable effort because of the remote location and harsh conditions at the peak. The army teams continued their efforts despite the difficult environment and ultimately succeeded in recovering the mountaineer’s remains and bringing them to a safer location.
