The vlog quickly attracted attention on social media, but instead of receiving praise, Aroob and Ducky Bhai faced heavy criticism from several users who questioned the decision to publicly showcase such expensive purchases.
Aroob Jatoi spends Rs 1 crore in one day
In the mini vlog, Aroob explained that she and her team decided to spend Rs 1 crore in one day. Their first stop was a luxury restaurant, where they ordered a large amount of food. However, despite the expensive-looking meal, their restaurant bill came to around Rs 50,000.
After the meal, Saad suggested that they should purchase a car. Aroob, however, rejected the idea, saying that she did not think buying a car was a good option for the challenge.
The couple then decided to purchase the latest iPhone, which Aroob said cost around Rs 10 lakh. After buying the phone, they headed to Damna Jewellers to spend the remaining amount on gold jewelry.
Aroob said that she considered gold a good investment and decided to purchase several gold sets. She also bought multiple sets of bangles and praised the jewelry for its designs.
During the shopping trip, Aroob also mentioned that the jewelry store was offering discounts. She further revealed that the couple received a gold set as a gift from the jeweller.
By the end of the shopping spree, the couple had spent almost the entire budget they had set for the challenge.
Social media users criticize the couple
The vlog soon became a topic of discussion among social media users. Many people criticized Aroob and Ducky Bhai for publicly displaying their expensive purchases while a large number of people struggle with financial difficulties.
Some users brought up Ducky Bhai’s recent legal controversy and referred to the FIA investigation while criticizing the couple’s content. One commenter said that people should respect Sarfaraz Chaudhry, whom they credited with catching what they described as illegal money.
Other users focused on the couple’s decision to show their expensive lifestyle online. They said that they were not necessarily against Aroob and Ducky spending their own money, but believed that publicly displaying such spending could be insensitive.
Some commenters also referred to religious teachings, arguing that showing off wealth in front of people who cannot afford similar luxuries is inappropriate.
A few users expressed disappointment with the content being produced by digital creators. They argued that creators should become more responsible as their earnings and influence increase instead of constantly focusing on expensive purchases and displays of wealth.
Meanwhile, some users took a different view and pointed out that controversial vlogs can generate significant attention and views. According to them, audiences may criticize the couple, but the creators can still earn substantial amounts through their content.
Several commenters also accused Ducky Bhai of flaunting his wealth and called him a “clout chaser,” while others continued debating whether the couple’s spending was simply a personal choice or something that should have been kept private.
The controversy has once again started a wider discussion about influencers, luxury content, and the responsibility that comes with having millions of followers.
