Brian Evans breaks silence on Carrot Top claims

Musician Brian Evans has denied allegations that he threatened comedian Carrot Top over an explicit video, saying the recording mentioned in a recent lawsuit had already been deleted.

The dispute surfaced after Carrot Top’s attorney, Ronnie Bitman, filed a lawsuit against Evans earlier this month. The legal action accused Evans of attempting to blackmail the comedian and seeking $500,000 over a sexually explicit recording allegedly involving Carrot Top.

According to the allegations, Evans threatened to make the video public if the requested payment was not made. The lawsuit also claimed that the recording could be placed on a public court docket.

Evans has rejected those claims. In a statement to TMZ, he said he never threatened to release the video in exchange for a settlement. He maintained that the USB drive referenced in the lawsuit no longer contained the recording.

Evans said the video had been deleted some time ago under the terms of an earlier settlement. He also insisted that he had made this clear previously.

Addressing Carrot Top’s reported suicide attempt, Evans expressed sympathy for the comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson. He said he was sorry to hear that Thompson had apparently harmed himself and stressed that he did not consider him a bad person.

Evans also said he did not believe Thompson’s reported actions justified self-harm. He further rejected any suggestion that he was responsible for what happened, saying the circumstances surrounding the incident were not fully known.

The musician said he was glad Thompson survived and wished him well during his recovery. Evans added that he had no intention of bringing the comedian down and said his position was the opposite.

Meanwhile, Thompson’s representative confirmed that the comedian was recovering in hospital and receiving medical care and support. The representative also thanked people for their concern and prayers while asking the public to respect the family’s privacy.

MGM Resorts, where Carrot Top has performed for many years, also issued a statement expressing relief over his recovery and wishing him strength as he continues to recuperate.

The allegations against Evans remain part of an ongoing legal dispute, while Evans continues to deny that he threatened to release any explicit material.
