Did Brian Evans demand $500,000 from Carrot Top?

Brian Evans has denied allegations that he threatened comedian Carrot Top with the release of a sexually explicit recording in exchange for money.

Evans spoke out after Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, was hospitalised following a reported suicide attempt. The comedian remains under medical care and was recently reported to be awake and breathing on his own.

The dispute stems from a legal filing made by Carrot Top’s attorney on September 3. According to the filing, Evans allegedly sought a $500,000 settlement and threatened to place a sexually explicit recording involving the comedian into a public court file if the demand was not met.

Evans has strongly rejected that allegation. He said the recording mentioned in the legal dispute had already been deleted under the terms of an earlier settlement.

He also denied ever threatening to publish the material. Evans maintained that he had no intention of using the recording to pressure or damage the comedian.

Addressing Thompson’s hospitalisation, Evans said he was sorry to hear that the comedian had apparently harmed himself. He said he did not consider Thompson a bad person, although he believed the comedian had made some poor decisions.

Evans also rejected any suggestion that he was responsible for Thompson’s reported suicide attempt. He said the complete circumstances surrounding the incident were not known and that it would be wrong to place responsibility on him without knowing all the facts.

He further said he was relieved that Thompson survived and was receiving medical care. Evans insisted that he did not want to damage the comedian’s reputation and said his intentions were the opposite.

Meanwhile, Thompson’s representative has said the comedian is recovering in hospital and remains surrounded by family and loved ones. His representative also confirmed that he is awake and breathing independently as his recovery continues.
