ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will auction five prime hotel plots in Islamabad on September 26, 2026, offering investors an opportunity to establish hospitality projects at strategically located sites in the federal capital.
The auction will be held at 10am at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad. The initiative is aimed at attracting private-sector investment in hotels and related hospitality infrastructure as the capital continues to host diplomatic, business, tourism and international activities.
Located against the Margalla Hills and known for its greenery, planned urban layout and open spaces, Islamabad has developed into an important centre for diplomatic and official engagements. Its role as Pakistan’s federal capital also creates demand for accommodation, conference facilities, restaurants and other hospitality services.
The proposed auction is intended to support the development of the city’s next generation of hospitality facilities and provide investors with access to commercially significant locations.
Five hotel plots on offer
According to the auction details provided by CDA, five hotel sites are being offered, including Plot No. 22 in D-12 Markaz, Convention Center Hotel Plot No. 6 in F-5/1, Five Star Hotel Plot No. 8 in F-5/1, and a hotel plot on the E-11 Northern Strip along Srinagar Highway between the Sports Complex and Margalla Hotel.
The fifth location is identified in the official auction schedule.
CDA has also announced payment and development-related incentives for investors. These include a one-year flexible payment plan, possession at 75 per cent payment subject to submission of a valid bank guarantee for the remaining amount, and building plan approval against a 25 per cent deposit.
Investors making the total payment within 30 days will be eligible for a five per cent rebate, while an additional five per cent rebate has been announced for full payment made in US dollars, according to the auction terms.
The authority has said it will facilitate investors in matters including electricity-line shifting, sewerage upgrades, land clearance and other allied services. Independent approach roads and other necessary facilitation measures will also be provided for the hotel plots.
Opportunity for overseas investors
The auction also allows participation by overseas Pakistanis and international investors. CDA will facilitate token issuance at least one day before the auction, while payments can be made through Roshan Digital Accounts or local banking channels.
The development of additional hotels and hospitality facilities could also support allied sectors, including restaurants, transport, tourism services, retail, conferences, events and employment.
For Islamabad, the auction comes as the city continues to strengthen its role as a venue for diplomatic engagements, conferences, business activities and tourism. New hospitality projects could add accommodation capacity and provide infrastructure for visitors, delegations and business travellers.
CDA has invited established hotel groups, hospitality companies, Pakistani investors, overseas Pakistanis and other interested parties to participate in the auction.
