ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured Dutch and other foreign businesses that Pakistan is committed to maintaining consistent economic policies and a stable investment environment, avoiding the boom-and-bust cycles of the past.
Speaking at a round-table conference and networking reception hosted at the residence of the Netherlands’ ambassador, Aurangzeb said Pakistan was now in a stronger position regarding trade and investment, citing improved international confidence and positive assessments from global rating agencies.
He said the government was determined to facilitate foreign investors and strengthen conditions for long-term commercial activity. The event brought together Dutch business leaders, senior Pakistani executives, government officials and members of the diplomatic community to discuss opportunities for expanding economic cooperation.
Highlighting the Netherlands’ significant business presence in Pakistan, officials noted that more than 50 Dutch companies operate across sectors including agriculture, food and beverages and industrial storage.
The Netherlands is among Pakistan’s leading trading partners in the European Union, with its businesses contributing to employment, investment and food security while supporting broader economic ties between the two countries.
Aurangzeb said the government would continue working with international businesses to build confidence and encourage sustainable investment in Pakistan.
