QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that ensuring peace, prosperity and the welfare of the people of Balochistan remains a central priority of the state, stressing that a secure environment is essential for the province’s development and economic progress.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Quetta Garrison on Saturday, where he met commanders and commanding officers of the army’s field formations.
During the visit, the army chief received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation in Balochistan and the operational preparedness of military formations deployed in the province. He was also briefed on measures being undertaken to maintain peace and stability and counter emerging security challenges.
The briefing covered ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional coordination and improve cooperation among the armed forces, law-enforcement agencies and other state institutions. Matters relating to support for the province’s socio-economic development were also reviewed.
Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated the high level of professionalism, operational readiness and dedication demonstrated by officers and soldiers serving in Balochistan. He commended their commitment to carrying out their responsibilities under challenging circumstances and praised their continued efforts to maintain security and stability in the province.
The army chief emphasised the importance of sustained coordination between law-enforcement agencies and other relevant state institutions, saying effective institutional cooperation was vital for dealing with security threats and maintaining a stable environment.
He said the peace, prosperity and well-being of Balochistan’s people were at the heart of the state’s efforts. According to the ISPR, he stressed that a stable and secure environment would continue to support development initiatives, attract economic activity and expand opportunities for the people of the province.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He acknowledged the courage and dedication of officers and soldiers and appreciated their steadfastness and commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities.
The visit comes as security and development remain closely linked priorities in Balochistan, where state institutions continue to focus on maintaining stability while supporting socio-economic initiatives.
Upon his arrival at Quetta Garrison, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by the Quetta Corps Commander.
