In a recent Instagram post, the actor challenged stereotypes about emotional control, questioning why women are often portrayed as more emotional when news reports regularly highlight violent acts committed by men.
Tauqeer argued that violence should not be reduced to a battle between genders, but recognised as a serious social issue that requires greater awareness and accountability.
Expressing concern over rising reports of rape and violence, she directed a powerful message towards women facing abuse at home. She urged them not to sacrifice their lives or safety to protect their marriages or avoid criticism from society.
“A divorced daughter is much better than a dead daughter,” she wrote, stressing that leaving an abusive relationship should never be considered a source of shame when a woman’s life is at risk.
