NEW YORK: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made a public appearance in New York with Lively’s sister Robyn, days after a judge ordered a major reduction in the legal fees Lively sought in her legal battle with actor Justin Baldoni.
Lively and Reynolds were seen together on Friday during a family outing in New York City, their first public appearance since the latest ruling in the dispute.
Lively wore a brown ensemble while Robyn was seen in a double-denim outfit as the family stepped out.
The outing came after Lively was awarded only a fraction of the legal fees she had sought in connection with Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit.
On Wednesday, a judge awarded Lively about $400,000 after she had sought around $8 million in legal fees.
An order obtained by the Daily Mail showed that Judge Liman awarded Lively $363,245.40 in attorneys’ fees and $44,206.35 in costs.
The judge said Lively’s lawyers had billed an “unreasonable” number of hours and that discrepancies were found in expense claims.
Lively had sought $4.54 million from Wilkie Farr & Gallagher and $2.95 million from Manatt Phelps & Phillips in legal fees. The total amount sought later rose to $8.3 million following an additional $300,000 in costs from a June 1 hearing.
The ruling follows a lengthy legal dispute that began in December 2024, when Lively sued Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, alleging sexual harassment and defamation.
Baldoni subsequently filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and The New York Times.
Although Judge Liman rejected Baldoni’s defamation countersuit, he ruled that Lively could seek legal costs associated with defending against that action.
Lively later agreed to settle most of her claims after they were dismissed by the judge.
