Veteran Pakistani actor “Bushra Ansari” has once again demonstrated her trademark wit and confidence, responding to age-related criticism with humour and sharp remarks in a light-hearted social media video. The celebrated performer, who has enjoyed a successful career spanning several decades, made it clear that she remains unfazed by online trolls and believes her critics should find more meaningful things to discuss.

Ansari appeared in a series of Instagram Stories shared by her niece, actor “Zara Noor Abbas”, while enjoying mangoes with family members. During the candid conversation, she addressed the negative comments that frequently target her age and appearance, saying those who constantly criticise others need to put more effort into finding original insults.

“They’ll say someone is too old or too fat,” Ansari remarked jokingly, dismissing such comments as meaningless and unnecessary. Her playful yet pointed response reflected her long-standing reputation for speaking openly whenever she feels something needs to be addressed.

The conversation became even more humorous when Zara’s husband, actor “Asad Siddiqui”, asked Ansari who exactly she was referring to. In response, the veteran actor joked that if people looked at the social media profiles of her critics, they often displayed pictures of birds. She quipped that perhaps those profiles should feature dogs instead.

Moments later, however, Ansari laughed at her own remark and admitted that she actually likes dogs too much to compare them to online trolls. She then jokingly suggested that snakes might be a more suitable symbol for those who spend their time spreading negativity on social media.

The light-hearted exchange continued when Ansari’s sister, veteran actor “Asma Abbas”, joined the conversation. Echoing her sister’s sentiments, Asma said she had grown tired of hearing the same age-related remarks repeated over and over again. She noted that phrases such as “old mare” and “one foot in the grave” had become repetitive and unoriginal, urging critics to come up with something new if they insisted on making personal attacks.

Adding to the playful discussion, Bushra Ansari joked that perhaps she and her sister should do something outrageous or illegal just to give their critics something different to talk about besides their ages. She laughed while suggesting that people seemed more interested in commenting on their age than recognising their achievements and continued success.

Ansari also suggested that jealousy could be one of the reasons behind the constant criticism. She said she and her sister continue to work actively, remain energetic, and enjoy fulfilling careers despite their age, while many of those leaving negative comments may not be doing much with their own lives.
