Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has concluded his visit to Iran after holding a series of high-level meetings with the country’s top leadership.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit.
He also held meetings with Supreme Leader’s representative Mohsen Rezaei and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
The Pakistani military chief also met Iran’s foreign minister and interior minister. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was present during the meetings.
The discussions focused on regional security and the rapidly changing situation in the region. Both sides discussed ways to prevent a further escalation of tensions.
The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz was also discussed. The sides examined possible measures that could help restore the movement of commercial and energy shipments through the strategically important waterway.
The meetings also focused on efforts to bring the conflict to an early end. The participants discussed diplomatic options and the need for continued engagement between the concerned parties.
