ChatGPT introduces new task scheduling feature

An artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot feature commonly found in messaging applications has now been introduced to ChatGPT. The new feature allows users to schedule tasks directly within the AI chatbot.

At first glance, the usefulness of a scheduling feature inside an AI chatbot may not be obvious. However, the company has introduced a new capability called Scheduled in ChatGPT.

A new Scheduled section has been added to the left-hand sidebar of ChatGPT. By clicking the shortcut for the Scheduled page, users can view any active tasks they have assigned to ChatGPT. The page also allows users to edit, delete or pause previously created requests.

According to the company, scheduled prompt tasks will be completed more quickly and with greater reliability. Similarly, when users ask the chatbot to perform a task in the future, they can specify an exact time or a particular time frame for its completion.

The feature can also be used for monitoring tasks and recurring reminders.

OpenAI has announced that the feature is being rolled out to paid subscribers. The company has not yet clarified whether it will become available to free users in the future.
