Chinese Consul General Mr. Sun Yan visits Lahore Press Club

Consul General Sun Yan and LPC President Arshad Ansari cut cake to mark 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship

Lahore: Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore, Mr. Sun Yan, visited the Lahore Press Club and held a meeting with members of its Governing Body.

The meeting was attended by Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari, General Secretary Afzal Talib, Joint Secretary Imran Sheikh, Finance Secretary Salik Nawaz, Governing Body members Sarmad Farukh Khawaja, Muhammad Ahmad Raza, Syed Badr Saeed, Kamran Khan, and Zaheer Sheikh, former Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Mehto, and former Senior Vice President Shiraz Hasnat.

Welcoming the Chinese Consul General, President Arshad Ansari expressed gratitude for his visit and stated that Pakistan and China are not only neighboring countries but also trusted friends whose bilateral relations continue to grow stronger due to their longstanding cooperation and mutual understanding. He added that the people of both countries hold deep goodwill and respect for one another.

Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Mr. Sun Yan highlighted the significance of Pakistan-China relations and emphasized the need to further strengthen ties between journalists and media organizations of the two countries. He noted that enhanced media cooperation would contribute to greater mutual understanding and people-to-people connectivity.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship, Consul General Sun Yan and Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari jointly cut a celebratory cake.

During his visit, the Consul General also toured the Digital Studio established at the Lahore Press Club with Chinese cooperation and visited the historic Shimla Pahari area.

At the conclusion of the visit, President Arshad Ansari presented a bouquet to the distinguished guest, Consul General Mr. Sun Yan.
