Australian T20 batter Chris Lynn has completed a one-month suspension after testing positive for a cocaine metabolite during an anti-doping test in England.
The 36-year-old returned a positive result for low levels of benzoylecgonine, a substance produced when cocaine is processed by the body, following a routine test on July 18 during the T20 Blast Finals Day.
Lynn was representing Northamptonshire at the time. He admitted the violation, with the England Cricket Regulator confirming the suspension on Friday.
Initially facing a three-month ban, the Australian batter received a reduced one-month suspension after completing a rehabilitation programme. The regulator determined that the substance use occurred outside competition and was unrelated to sporting performance.
The suspension has already been served, allowing Lynn to return to professional cricket.
Lynn, who holds the record for the most runs scored in Big Bash League (BBL) history, has represented Australia in 18 T20 internationals and four one-day internationals.
Meanwhile, Australian media reports suggest that Lynn is expected to join the Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming BBL season, which begins next month.
