CJP Yahya Afridi opens BHC facilitation centre

QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has said the establishment of facilitation centres will help speed up the delivery of justice and make judicial services more accessible to the public.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of a facilitation centre at the Balochistan High Court (BHC), Chief Justice Afridi said he was pleased to visit Balochistan and expressed hope that the new initiative would provide meaningful support to litigants and lawyers.

He said the centre aims to offer prompt and accessible services to people visiting the court, reducing difficulties faced by litigants and improving their interaction with the judicial system. The facility will also provide several services under one roof, helping people save time and obtain necessary assistance more efficiently.

Chief Justice Afridi said he wanted to see such centres established in every district and tehsil across the country. He stressed that the judiciary would continue working to bring judicial services closer to ordinary citizens and make the justice system more convenient and responsive.

During his address, the chief justice also announced a decision to establish a Justice Fund. He said the initiative would support efforts aimed at strengthening access to justice and assisting people connected with the judicial system.

Referring to the victims of the August 8 tragedy, Chief Justice Afridi paid tribute to those who lost their lives and said the best way to honour their sacrifices was to continue the struggle for justice and uphold the principles for which they stood.

He said the judiciary must remain committed to improving its services and ensuring that citizens can seek legal remedies without unnecessary delays or difficulties.

The inauguration of the facilitation centre marks another step towards modernising court services and improving the experience of litigants and lawyers in Balochistan.
