College of Nursing Attock secures first position across Punjab

Attock – The College of Nursing (CON) Attock has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by securing the first position across Punjab in the final examination of the BS Nursing (Second Semester, Fall 2023) conducted by the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore.

According to details, a total of 6,267 students from 43 nursing colleges across Punjab appeared in the examination, but only 2,083 managed to pass, marking an overall pass percentage of 33.23%. From CON Attock, 88 students appeared, out of which 85 students were declared successful an outstanding performance in contrast to the province-wide average.

CON Bahawalnagar secured second position with 65 students passing out of 93, while CON Mianwali stood third with 59 students passing out of 90.

Students of CON Attock credited their success to the visionary leadership and administrative excellence of Principal Madam Naveeda Iqbal, the dedication and innovative teaching methods of their faculty, their parents’ prayers, and their own unwavering hard work.

Among the top performers:

• Sania Farid and Iqra Zahid clinched first position, both securing a GPA of 3.36.
• Iqra Farid and Zunaira Gul shared the second position with a GPA of 3.32.
• The third position was claimed by Rutaba Sultan, Qudsia Bibi, and Fiza Saeed, each securing a GPA of 3.25.

MRP Office Employee Booked for Harassing Transgender Applicant in Attock

Attock – An employee of the Machine Readable Passport (MRP) Office in Attock has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing a transgender applicant, prompting a formal investigation by local authorities.

According to police sources, Muhammad Kashif, a transgender individual, visited the MRP Office on July 18, 2025, to apply for a passport. After completing the data entry process, he was directed to a photo cabin for his photograph. Kashif informed police that once inside the cabin, the on-duty employee Muhammad Boota locked the door and inappropriately touched his chest multiple times, subjecting him to sexual harassment.

Following the incident, the matter was reported to the Assistant Director of the MRP Office, who has since taken administrative action.

When contacted, Assistant Director Naseer u Deen confirmed the incident and stated that an “Explanation Letter” had been issued to the accused employee. He added that senior officials at the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports have been informed, and that further action will be taken in accordance with departmental rules and regulations.

The case has been registered by Attock City Police, and an investigation is underway to determine the full facts.
