Dar calls economic diplomacy key to Pakistan–Türkiye partnership

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has emphasized that economic diplomacy has become a defining element of modern foreign policy, urging Pakistan and Türkiye to strengthen their economic partnership in response to changing global and regional dynamics.

Speaking at the Pakistan–Türkiye Business-to-Business (B2B) Conference in Istanbul, Dar said the two countries should build on their longstanding friendship by expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and business development. He noted that closer economic collaboration would create new opportunities for growth and help both nations navigate an increasingly competitive global economy.

Dar highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, describing the mutual trust between their leadership and people as one of the greatest strengths of the bilateral partnership. He said the two countries have consistently supported each other on important regional and international issues, laying a strong foundation for broader economic engagement.

The deputy prime minister stressed that Pakistan remains committed to removing barriers that limit trade and investment. He said the government is working to create a more business-friendly environment that encourages both domestic and foreign investors to explore new opportunities in the country.

He also invited Turkish businesses to invest in Pakistan’s high-potential sectors, including information technology, mining, energy, and other emerging industries. According to Dar, stronger private-sector collaboration will play a vital role in boosting economic ties and unlocking the full potential of the Pakistan–Türkiye strategic partnership.

He expressed confidence that increased business-to-business engagement would deepen commercial relations and contribute to sustainable economic growth for both countries.
