The upcoming India-Sri Lanka ODI, scheduled for December 13, 2026, has been moved from Delhi to Visakhapatnam due to concerns over weather disruptions and renovation work at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The match will now be played at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam following a request from the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The venue change comes as Delhi continues to face worsening air pollution, with pollution levels reportedly exceeding 25 times the World Health Organization’s recommended daily limit. The deteriorating air quality has raised concerns about outdoor sporting activities in the Indian capital.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the decision was taken after considering possible weather-related interruptions and planned infrastructure upgrades at the Delhi stadium.
The fixture was expected to mark Delhi’s first ODI since the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. However, concerns over playing conditions and renovation plans led to the change.
Visakhapatnam will now host the December 13 encounter, replacing Delhi as the venue for the much-anticipated clash.
