Prof. Hina Khalil graduated from the National College of Arts (NCA) and later went to the Philadelphia University, United States, where she earned a Masters’ degree in Textile Design. Upon her return, she joined the Pakistan School of Fashion Design (PSFD) now known as the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design(PIFD). She became the Principal in 2001. In 2011, PIFD became a federally chartered institution and for her contribution to the field of fashion and design education, Prof. Khalil was awarded the prestigious CHEVALIER DE L’ ORDRE DES ARTS ET DES LETTRES by Ministry of Culture and Communication, French Republic. In 2016 she became the first Vice Chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design.

Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design offers undergraduate, Masters and PhD degrees in Design fields including Fashion, Textiles, Fashion Marketing& Merchandising, Fashion Production and Management. Approximately 80% of its students are female, while 20% are male.
