ISLAMABAD: A fire broke out at the Admin Block of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday prompting an immediate response from the Capital Emergency Service (CES) of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) which reached the site within two minutes and brought the fire under control.
According to the CDA, CES teams were dispatched immediately after receiving information about the incident and reached the site within two minutes. A total of 20 personnel participated in the firefighting operation and successfully brought the fire under control through timely action.
The CDA said that after extinguishing the fire, cooling and smoke-extraction operations were continuing to ensure that the area was made completely safe.
The Assistant Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner General also remained present at the site and monitored the emergency response.
The CDA said the Capital Emergency Service was fully engaged not only in firefighting but also in post-fire safety measures with the protection of human lives and property remaining its top priority.
No casualties had been reported in the incident until the filing of this report. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
