- And the people believe that this decision will bring a better future for Pakistan.
The decision to impose Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa marks a significant moment in Pakistan’s history and signals the state’s determination to act against terrorism, its facilitators, and those accused of undermining national security. It follows a prolonged period of worsening conditions, rising violence, and growing public concern. The province has endured increasing terrorist attacks, casualties, the loss of loved ones, and an environment of fear for children and families. Terrorist activity has reportedly increased by 195 percent, demanding urgent action and a united response. However, the provincial government has been accused of remaining inactive, making excuses, shifting blame, and prioritizing political interests over public safety. Instead of cooperation with the federal government, it has allegedly chosen confrontation and failed to fulfill its responsibility to protect citizens. Governor’s Rule is therefore a firm warning that wrongdoing, terrorism, and support for terrorist networks will not be tolerated, regardless of political affiliations, tribal loyalties, religious slogans, or alleged foreign funding.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government under Sohail Afridi faced serious criticism for allegedly showing leniency toward terrorists and refusing to implement the federal government’s counterterrorism plan, which aims to protect national security and save lives. Its failure to openly condemn terrorist groups and its tendency to blame the federal government or security forces have was evidence of weak leadership and a lack of accountability. The government has also been criticized for allegedly failing to attend the funerals of soldiers and law enforcement personnel who sacrificed their lives to protect the country, reflecting a lack of solidarity with grieving families and disrespect for their sacrifices. Meanwhile, public discussions in bazaars, villages, cities, mosques, and universities have reportedly raised suspicions about possible links between PTI and terrorist networks, with some people pointing to the perceived absence of major terrorist incidents at PTI rallies as grounds for suspicion. These claims and perceptions have damaged public trust and raised concerns about the relationship between political leadership and national security. The central demand is that the state take decisive action against terrorism, hold those responsible accountable, and restore public confidence in the institutions entrusted with protecting the people.
The federal government has shown great patience. This must be acknowledged. This must be recognized. This must be appreciated. For a long time, the federal government had no issue with the KPK government on other matters. All other issues were okay. There was room for political debate. There was room for disagreement on development. There was room for negotiation on resources. There was room for discussion on provincial rights. But to oppose the national policy against terrorism is a different matter. This is not a political issue. This is not a provincial issue. This is not a local issue. This is an existential issue. This is a matter of life and death. This is a matter of national survival. This is out of patience for the State. This is out of patience for the people. You cannot negotiate with those who want to destroy you. You cannot compromise with those who facilitate your enemies. You cannot make deals with those who shed innocent blood.
Instead of cooperating with the federal government on terrorism, the PTI chose a different path. They started a long march. They intended to attack Islamabad. This is the height of irresponsibility. This is the height of recklessness. This is the height of madness. At a time when the nation should be united against terrorism, the PTI chose to create chaos. At a time when the nation should be focused on security, the PTI chose to create anarchy. At a time when the nation should be standing with the armed forces, the PTI chose to challenge the state. This is not the behavior of a loyal opposition. This is not the behavior of a democratic party. This is not the behavior of those who love Pakistan. This is the behavior of those who wish to destabilize the country. This is the behavior of those who wish to create confusion. This is the behavior of those who wish to weaken the state.
The state cannot allow this. The state cannot allow a political party to hold the nation hostage while terrorists run free. The state cannot allow a political party to create chaos while soldiers die. The state cannot allow a political party to challenge the writ of the state while the enemies of Pakistan celebrate. The state has a responsibility. The state has a duty. The state has an obligation. And the state has now fulfilled that obligation. The state has now taken action. The state has now imposed Governor Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The role of the PTI and Sohail Afridi has been very bad. In fact, it has been against the state and the country. This is not a partisan statement. This is a statement of fact. When a provincial government refuses to fight terrorism, it is against the state. When a provincial government refuses to honor martyrs, it is against the country. When a provincial government acts as a facilitator for those who kill innocent people, it is against everything that Pakistan stands for. This is not a small matter. This is not a minor issue. This is a fundamental question of loyalty. This is a fundamental question of patriotism. This is a fundamental question of whether a political party stands with the country or against it.
The whole of Pakistan has welcomed the decision of imposing Governor Rule in KPK. This welcome is not just from any single political party. This welcome is not just from one province. This welcome comes from the people. It comes from the families of the martyrs. It comes from the citizens who are tired of living in fear. It comes from those who want to see a peaceful Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It comes from those who want to see a prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It comes from those who want to see a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where children can play without fear. It comes from those who want to see a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where markets can remain open without fear. It comes from those who want to see a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where people can worship without fear.
Now, the provinces will have the same policy against terrorism. There will be no more confusion. There will be no more mixed signals. There will be no more contradictions. There will be one unified front. There will be one clear policy. There will be one clear message. The good results of this will come in the coming days. The terrorists will have no place to hide. The facilitators will have no place to run. The anarchists will have no place to operate. The wrongdoers will have no place to find shelter. This is the promise of the state. This is the commitment of the state. This is the determination of the state.
The decision of imposing Governor Rule in KPK has given a clear message. It is a message to all wrongdoers. It is a message to all anarchists. It is a message to all anti state elements. It is a message to all terrorists. And it is a message to all their facilitators. The message is simple. There is no space for you. The State and the people of Pakistan do not have any space for you. This message is not limited to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This message goes everywhere. It goes to Balochistan. Whether it is the BLA in Balochistan, the state is watching. It goes to KPK. Whether it is the PTI in KPK, the state is watching. It goes to AJK. Whether it is the JAAC in AJK, the state is watching. It goes to every corner of the country. Whether it is the TTP, Fitna ul Hindustan, and Fitna ul Khawarij, the clear message is the same for all. No more space for wrongdoers. No more space for anarchists. No more space for anti state elements. No more space for terrorists. And no more space for their facilitators.
The people of Pakistan love Pakistan. This is a simple truth that is often forgotten. This is a simple truth that is often ignored. This is a simple truth that is often denied. The people want to make it peaceful. They want to make it secure. They want to make it prosperous. They want to build a future for their children. They want to live without fear. They want to walk in the streets without looking over their shoulders. They want to send their children to school without worrying if they will come home. They want to go to the market without worrying if a bomb will explode. They want to pray in the mosque without worrying if a suicide bomber will strike. And for this to happen, the wrongdoers must be rejected. The terrorists must be rejected. The facilitators must be rejected. And the people demand that they be dealt with with iron hands. Not with soft gloves. Not with political compromises. Not with silence. Not with excuses. Not with delays. But with iron hands.
The time for patience is over. The time for waiting is over. The time for watching is over. The time for action is now. The Governor Rule in KPK is just the beginning. It is the first step in a long journey. It is the first step in a difficult journey. It is the first step in a necessary journey. But it is a step that must be taken. It is a step towards a Pakistan where the writ of the state is supreme. It is a step towards a Pakistan where the terrorists have no home. It is a step towards a Pakistan that the founders dreamed of. A Pakistan that is safe for all. A Pakistan that is strong. A Pakistan that will not bow to anyone. A Pakistan that will not surrender to anyone. A Pakistan that will not compromise with anyone. The message is clear. The decision is made. The state has decided to deal with them with iron hands. And the people stand with the state. And the people support the state. And the people trust the state. And the people believe that this decision will bring peace. And the people believe that this decision will bring security. And the people believe that this decision will bring prosperity. And the people believe that this decision will bring a better future for Pakistan.
