Harry eyes Diana documentary for 30th anniversary

Prince Harry is reportedly exploring plans for a documentary about his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, as the 30th anniversary of her death approaches.

According to reports, the Duke of Sussex wants to commemorate Diana’s legacy through a documentary and has approached several of her close friends and relatives about taking part in the project.

Among those contacted is Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, who is expected to be considered for the proposed production.

Diana died in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. Her death continues to remain a significant part of the British royal family’s history, with her life and charitable work remembered around the world.

The reported documentary plans have also drawn attention because of the different approaches taken by Harry and his elder brother, Prince William, toward their mother’s public legacy.

Reports suggest William does not plan to produce a film about Diana for the 30th anniversary. He has reportedly remained emotional about her death and does not want to be placed in a public comparison with Harry over their mother.

Royal commentator Angela Levin also weighed in on the reported plans. She praised William for what she described as his efforts to honour Diana, while criticising Harry’s approach.

Levin alleged on social media that Harry views Diana’s legacy as a way to make money. Her comments were directed at Harry and Meghan Markle and represented her personal criticism rather than an established fact.

Harry, meanwhile, has reportedly been seeking a way to mark the anniversary that he considers meaningful and focused on his mother’s life and legacy.

The proposed documentary remains at the discussion stage, and details about its format, participants, production company and release platform have not been officially confirmed.
