Harry Styles jokes about Taylor Swift’s MSG wedding

Harry Styles playfully referenced Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s recent wedding while performing at Madison Square Garden during his ongoing residency in New York City.

The 33-year-old singer, songwriter and actor made the lighthearted comment on Saturday, August 29, while interacting with fans during his latest show at the iconic Manhattan venue. Styles is currently performing a 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden as part of his ongoing Together, Together Tour.

As he chatted with the audience, Styles celebrated the atmosphere of New York City before turning his attention to the venue itself.

“New York City — the Big Apple! The city that never sleeps,” he joked, prompting excitement from the crowd. He then mentioned Madison Square Garden, describing it as the home of the New York Knicks and adding that the famous arena is also a place where people “do weddings.”

His unexpected wedding reference immediately sparked cheers and laughter from the audience. Styles appeared amused by the reaction, smiling as fans responded to his playful remark.

The joke carried an extra layer of meaning because Swift and Kelce reportedly held their wedding at the same venue earlier this summer. The pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end are said to have exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in front of almost 1,000 guests.

Following the ceremony, a special “JusT&T Married” message reportedly appeared on the arena’s digital marquee, celebrating the couple’s marriage.

Styles has a personal connection to Swift, as the two dated briefly more than a decade ago. Swift and Styles were romantically linked from November 2012 until January 2013. Their short-lived relationship became one of the most closely followed celebrity romances of that period and has continued to attract public interest years later.

Although Styles was reportedly unable to attend Swift and Kelce’s wedding, his current fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, was able to join the celebration. Styles was performing in London at Wembley Stadium around the same time, making it difficult for him to travel to New York for the event.

Styles and Kravitz have also attracted attention with their own relationship. The couple reportedly became engaged in April 2026, with Styles said to have proposed with a diamond ring estimated to be worth around $1 million. Their reported engagement has fueled speculation about when they might eventually walk down the aisle themselves.

Meanwhile, Kelce recently opened up about his wedding during an appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp on August 12. Reflecting on the celebration, he described the wedding as the best night of his life and thanked everyone who attended and celebrated with the couple.

Kelce also spoke about the significance of getting married at Madison Square Garden. The NFL star explained that he had always dreamed of experiencing the legendary arena, particularly because of his interest in watching a New York Knicks playoff game there.

He said getting married at the venue allowed him to fulfill a childhood dream in an unexpected way. Kelce also praised the MSG owners for helping the couple hold a private celebration at the famous sports and entertainment venue.

The football star jokingly highlighted another memorable part of the evening: the arena’s air conditioning. According to Kelce, the cooling system was working extremely well, which he considered one of the best parts of the celebration.
