Hong Min-gi’s ex shares disturbing video after denial

Rising South Korean actor Hong Min-gi has become embroiled in a serious controversy after his former partner, identified as Influencer A, accused him of domestic violence, animal abuse and forcing her to undergo an abortion during their relationship.

The allegations emerged after claims about the actor’s alleged behaviour toward fans, cast members and crew on set attracted public attention. Influencer A subsequently made further accusations against the actor, including claims that he pressured her to terminate a pregnancy.

Hong Min-gi’s agency, Fable Company, strongly rejected the abortion allegations in a statement released on Thursday, August 20. The agency said that although A claimed she became pregnant during her relationship with the actor and underwent an abortion, its investigation found no evidence that Hong Min-gi had encouraged or pressured her to terminate the pregnancy.

According to the agency, A never showed the actor a pregnancy test. Fable Company also claimed there was no record of Hong Min-gi making any statement asking her to have an abortion.

The agency further disputed the timeline presented by A. It said that on July 13, the date on which she claimed to have undergone the procedure, she allegedly suggested that she and Hong Min-gi go cycling together. The actor reportedly declined the invitation, after which A allegedly sent him a video showing herself cycling alone. The company said it had preserved the relevant messages and video as evidence.

Following the agency’s denial, A shared material on Instagram that she said supported her allegations. Her posts reportedly included ultrasound images, obstetric and gynecological medical records, screenshots of private messages and footage related to an alleged physical assault.

In one video, A appears to be lying on the floor while a man sits beside her head and lightly strikes her. She claimed the footage showed an incident in which she was allegedly taken back home while intoxicated and unconscious against her will.

A captioned the video by alleging that she had been dragged home and mocked by people who were present. She also claimed that Hong Min-gi was the person seen striking her cheek in the footage.

The dispute has now escalated into a legal confrontation. Fable Company said the accusations had caused significant damage to the actor’s reputation and public image. The agency stated that it would stop repeatedly responding to what it described as false allegations and instead pursue legal measures.

The company confirmed plans to take action against A through both civil and criminal proceedings.

The controversy follows reports that A filed a complaint on July 28 under the title “Notice of Legal Action for Illegal Criminal Acts.” She allegedly accused Hong Min-gi of throwing dangerous objects, physically assaulting her and threatening her.

Hong Min-gi, born in 2002, began his acting career in 2020. He has since appeared in several Korean dramas, including Love Your Enemy, To My Beloved Thief, Doctor on the Edge, Trigger, Crushology 101 and Study Group.

The allegations remain disputed, with A presenting material she says supports her claims while the actor’s agency firmly denies them. Any further legal proceedings could determine how the competing accounts are assessed.
