British television personality Jack Osbourne has spoken about his complicated feelings towards multiple sclerosis, saying he sometimes feels like a “fraud” because the condition has affected him less severely than it has other people.

Osbourne discussed his experience on the MeSsy podcast, hosted by actresses Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. He said he found it difficult to reconcile his relatively manageable symptoms with the struggles of other people living with the disease.

“If I’m being honest, part of me feels a bit like a fraud in a sense,” Osbourne said.

He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in April 2012.

“I’ll go to these MS events — I’ve had the disease, been diagnosed 14 years now — and I’ll see people who were diagnosed a year ago, and they’re in a much worse position and they’re having a much harder time,” he said.

Osbourne said the condition had not stopped him from living his life or consistently slowed him down, although he acknowledged that it had affected him at times.

“It hasn’t stopped me, nor has it really slowed me down,” he said.

“Even though I’m not, but it’s just this strange relationship I have to it,” he added.

Osbourne also recalled feeling frustrated and overwhelmed when he first received the diagnosis, saying he initially reacted with a deeply negative outlook.

“It was so frustrating because I just… I instantly went, ‘What the f— did I even get sober for? I should have just burned this whole thing down,’” he said.

Osbourne is the son of late Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and television personality Sharon Osbourne.
