Pop group Katseye has apologised to fans after postponing its Detroit concert on Tuesday, November 3, because member Megan Skiendiel was unwell and unable to perform.
The group was due to perform at Little Caesars Arena as part of its Wildworld Tour. It announced the postponement in a statement posted on Instagram Stories shortly before the show was scheduled to begin.
“We’re so sorry to share that tonight’s show at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness,” the group said. “Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover.”
Katseye also apologised to fans who had travelled to Detroit or made plans to attend the concert.
“We know so many of you have travelled, made plans, and been looking forward to tonight. We are incredibly disappointed that we won’t get to see you, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience,” the statement said.
“Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for always showing us so much love. We love you and can’t wait to see you soon,” it added.
The late announcement prompted frustration among some fans on social media.
“Katseye just canceled their Detroit [show] 30 minutes before the start! Just disgusting,” one user wrote on X.
The same user also expressed disappointment on behalf of their daughter and complained about the money spent on the concert, writing: “My daughter is so disappointed. I want my $889 I spent back.”
The venue said tickets would remain valid for a new date, which had not been announced. It also apologised to concertgoers for the disruption.
