Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has spoken by phone to a fan who was injured during a shooting targeting his son, actor Tiger Shroff, in Mumbai, and offered to meet him in hospital once the situation had calmed down, Indian media reported.
The fan, Umesh Chauhan, was hit by a bullet in the chest when gunmen opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car near a football ground in the Juhu area on October 18. The actor escaped serious injury, while his driver and Chauhan were wounded.
“Let me know if you need anything, son” — Jackie Shroff told Chauhan during the phone call, according to media reports.
“We will come to meet you once the situation has calmed down” ,he added.
Chauhan underwent surgery at Mumbai’s King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital on October 21 to remove the bullet lodged in his chest. Hospital officials said he was stable after the procedure and remained under medical observation.
The shooting took place as Tiger Shroff was leaving the football ground. Police are investigating the attack.
