RAWALPINDI: Students appearing in the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations 2026 in Jhelum will have to wait another 20 days to sit their Computer Science papers after the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi postponed the examinations due to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s expected visit to the district.
The papers, originally scheduled for November 10, have now been rescheduled for November 30, according to an official notification issued by BISE Rawalpindi.
The decision follows a recommendation from Jhelum Deputy Commissioner, who informed the board that extensive administrative, security and protocol arrangements were being planned for the chief minister’s expected visit to Jhelum and Pind Dadan Khan on November 10.
In a letter addressed to the BISE Rawalpindi chairman, the deputy commissioner explained that the deployment of administrative officials and security personnel for the high-profile visit could create difficulties in ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of examinations across the district.
The district administration therefore requested the board to postpone the papers to avoid inconvenience to students and ensure that both the examination process and the chief minister’s visit could proceed smoothly.
Acting on the recommendation, BISE Rawalpindi rescheduled the Computer Science examinations for both morning and evening groups in Jhelum district.
Board spokesperson Arslan Cheema confirmed that Mubashir Saeed, Controller of Examinations, had issued the notification announcing the revised examination schedule.
Under the new arrangement, the morning group’s Computer Science paper will take place during the morning session on November 30, while the evening group’s examination will be conducted in the evening at the examination centres previously assigned to candidates.
However, the postponement will apply exclusively to examination centres located in Jhelum district.
The board clarified that students appearing at examination centres in other districts under its jurisdiction will take their Computer Science papers on November 10 according to the original schedule. No changes have been announced for those candidates.
To facilitate affected students, BISE Rawalpindi will issue fresh roll number slips reflecting the revised examination date.
However, students who have already received their roll number slips will not need to worry, as the previously issued slips will also remain valid.
The decision comes as the district administration prepares for the chief minister’s expected visit, with security and official arrangements taking priority in the affected areas.
